We’ve just reached another major milestone with endorsements by the Council to move forward with the development plans and process.
We’ll shortly be submitting a development application, and while we wait for that to be approved, we will be diving into the finer detail of the design and landscaping.
You won’t see any changes on site just yet with a lot more behind the scenes work still to do. But we’ll keep you updated on our progress! Make sure you’re signed up to our redevelopment newsletter and our social media for the latest news.
Our aim for this development is simple: to redefine what it means to have a public golf course!
We know how lucky we are to have a phenomenal golf course, but the facilities around it need to improve to match the quality of the 27-holes we all get to enjoy. We also believe, however, we can take this even further!
While golf will remain our priority, we’re planning to extend our facilities to benefit more of our community. That way, we become a true community hub where quality golf meets leisure, recreation, and connection.
And just to make it extremely clear: there will NOT be any changes to our incredible golf course as a part of this redevelopment plan.
If you’d like to keep up to date with how this redevelopment is tracking, please consider subscribing to our dedicated redevelopment newsletter (using the form below) , so that you’re notified whenever there is an update!
As we progress through certain milestones, we will provide information so that you’re always in the know for your favourite Perth public golf course.
So, be sure to keep following along as one of Perth’s best public golf courses gets developed into your first choice for quality golf, recreation, leisure and connection!
It’s been a little while since we last checked in — and for good reason!
Behind the scenes, we’ve been hard at work refining the design for the Collier Park redevelopment. Our goal has always been to create an exceptional venue for everyone to enjoy, while carefully balancing the need to protect and celebrate the beautiful natural environment that surrounds us.
It’s taken some time, but we’re excited to say… it’s all coming together!
Despite escalating construction costs (which has been a bit like the flag constantly moving around the green while you’re putting), we’ve managed to maintain the same purpose and venue elements that we proposed over a year ago now: To create a community hub, where golf is played.
And just to confirm: we are NOT encroaching on any of the Golf course. For those that already know the venue, the build area is where the current practise greens are now, and these will be relocated as part of the landscaping plan.
We’ve even got some initial rendered images and concept plan drawings that you can view below (just know that these aren’t final, final versions, but they’re close!).
We’ve just reached another major milestone with endorsements by the Council to move forward with the development plans and process. 🎉 This is a huge step forward, and we’re thrilled to have the support as we move ahead.
Next up?
We’ll be submitting our Development Application and diving into the fun part — designing all the finer details of the internal spaces to make sure they’re not only functional, but inviting and exciting for everyone who visits.
Thank you for your patience and continued support — we can’t wait to share more updates with you soon!
Great news!
Last week marked another exciting major milestone for the Collier Park redevelopment plans. After considering the submissions made on the Business Plan, Council voted unanimously to process to the next steps, including lease negotiations.
In the new year we’ll provide more updates on timelines and layouts, but for now, join us in the excitement for what the future has to hold for your favourite Perth public Golf course.
As always, thank you for your continued support. We can’t wait to bring this vision to life and create a space you all can be excited about!
Stay tuned.
Great news! We now have another milestone to share in Collier Park’s redevelopment plans.
The City of South Perth is currently advertising the Major Land Transaction Business Plan (view it here) for public comment and whilst that process is still to conclude, we thought we’d get your feedback on how YOU would like to see the new venue evolve.
Your feedback via this survey will help us shape the proposed venue elements (see at start of Survey), so that we can further inform the City of South Perth and progress the planning in line with our community’s needs.
Click the button below and have your say! (Entries will close on 26th Sep 2024 at 5pm).
COMPLETE SURVEY
A Major Land Transaction Business Plan for this redevelopment will be presented at the City of South Perth Ordinary Council meeting on the 27th August. The Business Plan can be viewed on the City of South Perth website from Friday 16th August.
You may begin seeing people doing preliminary grounds/environmental investigations work. While the Business Plan is still subject to Council approval, our preparations are underway.
Upon Council approval of the Business Plan, our community consultation and feedback processes will begin, including a survey out to our community and targeted in-person consultation groups.

Is this the RAF project again?
No. The City of South Perth Council resolved in May 2023 to not progress the Recreation and Aquatic Facility (RAF).
Why does Collier Park need to be redeveloped?
Whilst the golf course at Collier Park is of a superb quality, the current buildings and facilities are lacking in their ability to cater to the demand of our community. New buildings, enhanced service offerings and improved golf facilities are all part of the plan.
Will the layout of the golf course be affected?
No – the course will remain as its current 27-hole form. The area currently earmarked as the new floor plan does not encroach on any of the golf course. In fact, it is intended to only enhance the experience for golfers, providing a seamless entry, more space for pre-and post-game activities and a beautiful environment in which to enjoy it all!
What are the proposed facilities in the redevelopment?
The proposed redevelopment will provide a technology-led double story driving range; bistro/restaurant; dedicated function room; outdoor and indoor dining areas; all-abilities playground; Padel tennis courts; a multi-use community space; new cart shed; additional parking and a new retail space. Plus, our existing 27-hole golf course and 18-hole mini golf course.
How is the redevelopment being funded?
The redevelopment is being jointly funded by the City of South Perth and Clublinks, the current operator of Collier Park.
Who will manage the new facility?
In December 2023, Council resolved to award Clublinks, the venue’s current operator, an extended contract to manage the redevelopment process and ongoing operations of the new facility.
Will the black cockatoos be affected?
The City of South Perth and Clublinks are both committed to protecting the black cockatoo habitat that exists at Collier Park. Environmental consultation processes will be part of the planning to ensure an absolute minimal impact on our population of black cockatoos.
Timeframe?
Planning and design processes will take place in the late 2024, which construction expected to commence mid-2025. Further details will be released following a completed design process.
Can I have a say on the elements of the project?
Absolutely! Upon council approval of the business plan, our community consultation and feedback process will begin! This will include a survey out to our community and in-person consultation groups. Please keep an eye on our page for the latest information. If you subscribe to our mailing list above, we will send you an email as soon as is the survey is available.
Where will construction take place?
For those that already know the venue, the build area is where the current practise greens are now, and these will be relocated as part of the landscaping plan. No trees will be removed during the redevelopment. In fact, we aim to make our natural environment the centrepiece of our new community facility.
